Kapa Haka

Neke ma.to the. the kaia said and the first song started with great clarity and volume. It was Kapa Haka time and we were recording our performance in  our hall at Wainui Beach School. It was nine thirty and we had just started.

Because the kaia had said neke mato every other person in the lin would step out. That meant only three people were in front of me. I was in the boys second row. The boys rows were at the back behind the girls. But when we stepped out into the gaps there were only all together three people in front of me.

After the first song finished we did two more, then the Kaia said neke moui and I went back to my place in line. Then we did our transition huka. It's a great haka especially because the girls can participate in it. When we finished the transition we were at the front and the girls were at the back. That's when we started the boys scary haka. Quamo said the boy Kaia, and we all said, HE. Then we finished the haka.

After that we transitioned back and finished with one more song.

Green Team Proformance

The first character stepped out onto the stage. It was crayfish, and two others followed. It was Tuesday middle block, and we were in the Illiminster hall. A group of kids, who we apart of a group called the green team, were performing for us.

As I said before, the first character to step out onto the stage was a crayfish, two others followed. It turned out that the first character out, was the character who was playing the part of a granny called Granny Kora. They started the play with the finishing of a story. Then after the to other crayfish begged for just one more she gave them three kitchens, two of which I forget but the one that they chose was the time Granny Kora saved the world from aliens. Once the story was chosen the real play began.

Just after the two crayfish chose the story one of them left to play another part. As that happened the Granny had started to tell the story. As she was telling the story some people came into the play, they were meant to be acting out what happened in according to the story, and it worked like a charm.

As the play carried on some aliens came and dumped rubbish in a skate park, that was actually a painting in the play. The aliens dumped the rubbish in the the after which some kids did the same thing. They even dumped a perfectly good robot.

In the end of the play, the kids, they got the robot to call the aliens and  meat the crayfish. She looked like their all powerful queen so when she told them to go they left with their trash.

That was the Green Team Performance

EL3 SPaG

In EL3 SPaG today koka pip wanted us to make a rectangle out of paper using separate squares with words on the edges. The words on the edges were each half if sayings and we needed to put the sayings together then if we did it all correctly we would make a rectangle and on the outside there would be words that didn't belong to sayings and those words would be the clue in a ongoing murder mystery.

We started by cutting out the squares. The we put them together, and as we, I meen me and a kid named Prince. After a little bit we thought we were nearly done but we kept running into problems. I thought we should be doing three by fore not two by five we ket doing it two by fore.

Evenchily a group that had help from a teacher and there whole group finished first, then one second later another group finished two and that group was big. Somehow it turned out that we did have to do three by fore, so I was right all along. One we started with three by fore we finished really quickly.

Then we wrought the clue down and crossed off the people on the suspect sheet.

Simple order opirations

In my Level 3 Plus math group we learned order of operations these operations work along the lines of BEDMAS. B for brackets, E for Exponents , D for Division, M for multiplication, A for addison and S for subtraction. Then in the odder of bedmas you do the question. So if their brackets you do them first then you would go to exponents and so on you don't follow the odder of the numbers in the question.

After we learned that, we went onto doing lots of questions to make shore that we understood. Their was one hard one and our teacher had to look at the instructions to figure it out. Once she explained how to do the hard one we finished the others.

That was my math workshop in simple order opirations.

Gold Mining Alliteration

At school, one day last week had to make up some Alliterations for our speech. After our teacher explained what they are, even though we already knew, we we started to make our own alliteration. a long time of trial and error I figured out a pretty good Alliteration. Then I asked my teacher if it was a good one or not and she said that it was good so here it is.

This is a gold mining alliteration

High modality words

Today at school, in one of my classes we learned about high modality words. Learning about them were fun because after we new what words they were we were able to make a word cloud out of them, which is when we pit lots of words in a list and then when were done we got to watch as the words made a cool picture.

Now I have to explain what high modality words are. High modality words are words that mean you completely believe in in what you are saying. They are used to make the people you are talking to believe in what you are saying is true. High modality words are words like must and I know. They are words that you would commonly see is persuasive text. They are words that leave no room for argument.

I hope that I explained what high modality words are. Bellow there are some of the words.

Green gold

This week on Tuesday my school had some people to come to our school to see if we were good enough for green gold. That day after the bell rung we all headed to class. All of us except for the kids going to t welcome some new students to school. While they were there we made some leaves to go on a wall. we already had some hanging down from a tree and we had to write some stuff about our sustainability and stuff. those were hanging down from a tree while the ones we were doing now were going on the walls.

What we had to do was using the picture we had chosen we would write about it and why we put it in the category. The problem was that I hadn't been there when they did it so I had to team up with someone.

A while passed and I had no partner until Filex came he had been there when they did the pictures so we worked together. We planed for the writing but before we could write the draft the people from the welcoming ceremony came back.

Now that they were back it was time for us to go on a walk to the beginning of the stream in our school Pepeha. After everyone had gone toilet and had there bags with them, sitting on the deck, we started walking.

Ten minutes passed on the road until we got to a farm. A teacher gave us a safety briefing. Directly after we got on the farm we had to cross over a stream. It was our schools pepeha steam when it was small. Lots of people got wet as they crossed over.

When that chaos was over we walked till we got to a nice picnic spot. There we had branebrack for ten minutes until we arrive at the, what we think is the end of our school pepeha river.

On the way back I thought how I was happy we were going back and how I had, had a good time.

To top off the day at the end we scored green gold

Ski trip

  Day 1 of skiing

In the morning after I took a shower we wanted for the lifts to open. The weather was to bad though so we stayed inside doing different activities until it got better. All of the activities we based on bean bags but one in particular was I get bean bags all on top of me, and then everyone get up on the couch and jumps on me. Another was we lose lots of the bags on the couch and then we made them slide down with us on top, both were fun for all of us.

After a long time inside the weather cleared so we got ready to go outside. We took so long to get ready that by the time we go outside, the visibility was bad again. We went down to happy valley to get me ski rentals and then we met up with some friends and we did a couple runs together, finally we left easy happy valley and we went up to the rock garden. It was super fun. It wasn’t necessarily easy but it was fun.

It must have been to hard for the friend that came with us though because after only three runs mum and she went back to happy valley and I was allowed to do some runs by myself until she got back.

After I got back from my 3rd skiing run, we went up the sky waka , gondola, to the cafe, then we went up the delta chair and went all the way down to the base of the gondola.

We did this a few more time until I wanted to go back to the rock garden. We did that a few more times till we went back to the hut.

Day 2 of skiing

After I got my ski rentals on the second day of skiing me and mum met up with a person named Rob. He is someone from our ski club and he was with someone else. Yes, the talking went for ages but when they were done we went up the gondola. There we went up the Valley T-bar and went up that once.

We finished by going down to the bottom of the gondola. We did that by going through rock garden and to the bottom.

The snow was so good in the Garden that we stayed there for one more run, then we went up the rock garden lift again but instead of going down rock garden we went down Tenence valley.

A while passed and we went back up the gondola and stayed there. We went up the valley T- bar until we wanted to go all the way down. ( we did that two more times).

After a lunch break we rode up the Knole ridge T-bar. There we went up a trail that led us out west. We got information that the T-bar out there did not have he best snow by it so we just went up the chair lift. It had such good snow and it was partly nearly flat and parts were steep but all was fun.

The snow out there was soft and fluffy with small chunks of screeching ice. The weather was fine but there was low visibility going on and off. Finally we had to go back though because it was too hard to ski. When we got back, a girl named Molly, and Vita both from my club slid down a steep hill on our butts.

Ski Trip

Things I learned on ski trip.

On my first 3 days of skiing my family rented out a apartment on the ski mountain, so I thought it would be super cool if we were the first people on the Chandila, so I got ready really fast but every one was going slower slower and it was annoying but I wanted, and the lessen I learned that day was more patients.

The next day we was bad visibility so we had to be much more careful about skiing so when we skied we had to ski small turned to make sure we didn't go fast. That day I almost mastered small turn skiing.

On the last day at the apartment I had a lesson, in the morning we didn't have the best instructor and he said we could only do easy trails. In the afternoon though we had a good instructor and he said we could easily do black diamonds with good technique. That day I learned how to do carving turns because that's what he taught us.

During the next few days I just practiced the stuff I learned and practiced the stuff I practiced, but on the last day of the trip after face planting on a big jump and crashing full on into a metal pole, I learned the most important lesion. Even if everyone else slows you down, still ski with them because it is a lot safer to ski with someone than it is to ski without someone.

That is what I learned on my ski strip.

Quickwrite 6.9.21

Brrrringggg! I answered the phone and…

Gasped in surprise,” mum!” “You got the tickets to go to the African Safari!” “Can we all come?’ I asked hurriedly. We can, I thought after she said it, yes we were off to the safari.

At the safari stacion we wanted until It was our turn to go on the day safari tour. We got on it. The shaky jeep bumped along splashing water in my face every time because I was trying to drink water. Even though I was wet I was happy because it cooled me off in the sweltering heat of the tour.

After about half an hour we stopped to look around. Now that we had stopped it was a lot hotter because there was no wind. As we looked around we didn’t see any animals. Just a big open place with no trees.

After that pit stop we got back on the jeep, but last time I had been in the shade. Now I was in the sun, and it alone was so hot I was glad I put it on far once but the worst thing was the seet. It had been sitting in the sun all that time and now it was hotter than blistering heat.

Another hour passed and I was starting to get bored when I saw a herd of lions. They were more muscular than they looked in books but they also looked thin to the bone, but what I was really focused on was their mane. Their famous mane was a nearly perfect circle and was just so fluffy looking. I snapped a couple photos and then the jeep kept on moving. I hadn’t actshiely noticed that it was on until it had started again.

Then about fifteen minutes later we saw a lion, the animal I most wanted to see. I imprinted it in my mind. Every small detail then The jeep learched to a stop so I snapped a few pictures and we restarted. After that the tour had to turn around because it didn’t have enough gas to finish the tour and everyone demanded all there money back so thats what we got. We saw all the animals we wanted for free.

The end

P.SThis is not a true story

Quick wright sentence starter 30.8.21

We had a tank full of fuel and…

A car to drive in, camping time!

We all load our belongings into one of our cars and then all but one of us hop into the other. Dad is driving the car with the belongings and mum is driving the car with the people.

Pump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump.” This is a crazy bumpy car ride” I say as we slim into another pot hole. We look out at the glimmering blue ocean and wonder when the ride will end. Then after another hour we arrived at a lovely camping ground, and we were the only ones there.

As we put up the tent on the soft dry grass a gust of wind comes and nearly plows the tent right out of our hand. Then we put up the fly, make our bed and prepare the lantern and shove the rest of our belongings into the other two smaller tents that are pitched in a 50 millisecond walk from us.

Then we put on our bathing suits and start hiking to the mountain lake. It was hard work walking up and down. At first the hike was out in the open where there was plenty of sun but evenchiely we got to a native bush and wet slimy ferns slapped us in the face and a small trickle of water trickled down a grove in the path.

After what seemed like thirty minutes we finally reached the lake. It was beautiful and definitely worth the walk. Then after a long swim we walked back to the camp site to watch the sunset on the water while roasting marshmallows and making smores.

In the morning after a bad night's sleep, me and my family went for a swim in the ocean. Well all except mum, who went on a walk instead.

Then after another night we packed up and went home.

Quick write 25.8.21

 The pirates were coming…

“Load and man the canyons”.” Activate the dust field,” I yell. The ship looms out of the water. “ARRG,” they yell. Then they run down the ramp thunk, thunk, thunk. Badle stations I yell. The pirates brandish their electro swords and mega guns, then they fire. Beep, Beep, Beep. “The Dust Field can’t take much more of this” Someone shouts. “Then fire the laser canions” I shouted. Then Kaboom, They have breached the other wall. “Otter, Handle that,” I say.

“Power up, Fire, Power up, Fire, Power up, Fire” Boom, Boom, Boom. “Our forces are overrun” The lights flicker. The walls shake. “Abandon control center and join the fight”,” we must protect the treasure”.

We load up our guns and charge. As we march out of the control center into the battlefield. The wreckage is terrible. The once indestructible dust field was now a pile of charred rust. The canyons fire a weak shot. The bad power must be affecting it, the geniraters can’t handle the strange.

Chunks of the once smooth walls collapse all around us. The smoke in the air makes it hard to breathe. We put on our masks and fire our guns. We advans on our aponence. The one person in the command center activates the defender droid and they come marching in perfect formacion. Then at my command he brings up the nuk proof defence mode and the whole main center becomes surrounded by medle and  three hundred layers of dust field.

Then the pirates' second wave comes in. Our canyons take out the last of the canyons and reinforcements at the cost of their handlers. Then we get overrun so using the last bits of energy we fire up the nuclear bomb. After we set the course of the bombs/ we run to the speeders and go far away.

Then it explodes and all gets destroyed except the main center which was still protected by one thin layer of dust. Then the generators gave out .

94 years later

We walked into a creepy building that was the head of the world since and researched almost 100 years ago. It was said to be attacked by ants or something, but it had something that nowone could recreate. The dust field and defender drodes.

Planting at the Wetlands

Yesterday, me and my class, MLH, went to the wetland on a boy from our schools farm whose name was Cory. When we got to the wetlands everyone put there bags on the back of a tall shearing shed. Then my teacher did a safety briefing where she told us where to meet in case of an emergency. Then she told Cory's dad to tell us all what we were doing.

Once Cory's dad finished, we walked through the oozing mud to the wetlands, then we broke into two groups, group 1 and group 2. I was in group two and my group was planting first while the other group wat fertilising the trees with sheep dags. So we hopped over the fence and started planting.

At first I didn't know how to plant but in time it became easy. First you massage the plant, then you grab the base of the tree and pull it out Then you put it in the hole you dug. If the plant doesn't come out of the plant holder easily keep massaging it.

Once I planted my first tree I went looking for other trees to plant. Then I saw that someone was planting one of the best trees. It was one that would grow super tall. I tried to help plant that one by digging the whole but my shovel wasn't good enough so an adult did it instead.

Then I keep looking around for another one of the trees and I found another. I wanted to plant that one but the adult did it instead. So I found one more and a different adult named Ann dug the hole. Me and Maggey went looking for other trees. There were no more so me and Maggey headed back to plant it. I had been massaging it for a long time so it was very easy to plant. After finally planting the tree I really wanted to plant I was very happy. Then all of us tried to thing of a name for the tree. Ann found one, MAN, M, for Maggey, A, for Ann and N, for me, Nathan.

After that we had a quick morning tea, then the groups swapped jobs. I started filling up buckets of dags while a girl in my group named Klara delivered them. After about another hour of fun, but hard work, we had lunch...

Once we were finished with lunch we walked to the sheep shed where the lambs were kept. Then we got to feed them and pick them up, some select few lucky people were allowed to help give the lambs milk.

After that we went up into a beautiful native bush to finish off the day.

Quickwrite

"Can anyone here me," I yell. There was no response."Yes!" Finally, I found a beach with no one in miles. Double yes, We get a new adventure.

Me, my sister, mum and dad have gone to the beach today and there is no one here.

After helping lay down the picnic/beach blanket on the burning hot sand, me and my sister, Miriam, dive into the refreshing cool ocean. The water is deeper than I expected and I go under. I pop back up again a bit closer to shore. I swim through the small waves and then just treed water as I go up and over, up and over the waves. Then me and Miriam hear a call," swim back to shore" it said, so we look over and see that see that we had drifted so far we were in the coral reef. So carefully, trying not to get cut by the sharp coral, we make our way back to the beach.

Now on the sand of the hot burning beach, mum runs her cold sunscreened hand over my back and neck. I realise there's no shade out here on the hot beach so I go out to the car and and get the sun umbrella.

After returning to the blanket with the umbrella, I quickly jump onto it to cease the hot pain. Then I say " hay did you know there's a coral reef here,""as a matter of a fact I did not" says dad, " well what are we waiting for, lets grab the snorkeling gear and start a new adventure," cheers Miriam.

MMM - Murder-Mystery-Math

On the 4.8.21 my math strand groop did MMM. The task was we had to figure out the correct type of square to figure out the answer to the clue.

We had to put theese letters tdlhulecbmaoutyresddseacheaornoeal into a correct kind of squar, then you need to make sure it is the right kind of squar. After lots of tries I finally did it but then I couldn't figure out if it was correct or not. I only understood it when the teacher showed it to me in a certain

way. So that was a pretty fast MMM right, well that's not the end. After that I still had to mark it off! But that took nearly took as long as fingering out the MMM all together.

3 Way Focus

For the last few weeks I have been doing a Three Way Focus enquiry topic. The Three Way Focus project has three different options for what you can do. The first optischen is a diorama, the second is a book and the third is a life size drawing of a penguin.

For my three way focus me and my group choose the story book. The story book has to be about a penguin so that's what we did.

For the first week I wrote the story of the book. After I wrote the story we started on drawing the pictures. Once we had been drawing with no success for two preshus hours we started doing our drawing digitally.

The problem with doing things digitally is that it still takes time. Because of that I ended up having to delete and recraft the book.( If we sell them at the craft fair or I make some at home I will do the full story with less rushed pictures.)

After I finished recrafting the book me and my group, of three, continued to draw.

Now me and my group only have a few more hours to finish but I think we can finish it.

That leads me to the end of my Three Way Focus Blog.

My Quickwrite

In this quick write I use different sentence starters and use extra words for extra information. I also used more interesting words like staggering or shuffled instead of walked or ran. I hope you get transported to this piece of work.

I couldn't believe my eyes, we were finally there, Mount Ruapehu.

As I step outside of the midnight night blue car, snow flakes fall around me. I give a shiver. I slowly shuffle through the snow piled around the parking spot to where my parents are sliding on the winter snow pants and snow jackets. I also take in the awkward and ridiculous sight of my sister desperately trying to get on her ski boots as she breaks down in freezing cold tears. Then I breathe in a gush of cold, fresh air that feels raw against my throat. Then I quickly shove on my ski pants and boots, we get all our stuff together and then we start trudging up the snow covered path to the Wellington tramping hut.

Now at the hut, we peel off our snow boots, jackets and pants. Then we swiftly put them in the drying room, then we go through the heavy fire door into the warm main lodge.

Just as happy hour at the hut started, the main lodge filled with noise, so mum said that we should go into our bunk room to sort out our sleeping situation.  We heaved open the huge fire door and headed for our bunk room.

"It's not fair," I yell, " My sister gets to sleep with you every night just because she's scared of the dark and every thing else." " Okay," says mum calmly," you  can sleep with me three of the nights and your sister can sleep with me for four of them." Knowing that was the best I was going to get, I nodded, opened the creaking heavy door, and walked out of the room.

After a good night sleep my family slowly staggers out of bed. After we privately got changed we went out into the main lodge for a breakfast of hot steaming porridge and good gooey deviled eggs.

Once our lodge chores were done we done we headed to the lifts to start skiing. After doing the rock garden a few times we we went up the sky waka to the upper mountain. There we enjoyed the rest of our week on the upper mountain.

I hope you enjoyed my quick write blog post.

Magic Show

Today in the morning we had a magic show.

At the beginning of the show the person doing the magic did like nineteen tricks. Then he started talking about fruits, vegeys, dairy, grain and carbon. He kept asking us questions like, where does Broccoli go on the template, or where does bread go. After we had been taking about that kind of thing for like twenty minutes he decided to restart with the magic.

The first magic trick he did next was terne one of the younger kids into Captain America. Then he said that the kid could go down.

Next, the magician started talking about why and how important water is for you. After a talk about why juice and coca cola is bad for you, he called up another kid, got a cup and a funnel, then he told the kid to hold her body is a position and water came out of the funnel!

After another like hundred tricks and lectures I was starting to get bored but when the machine sit the fire put a lid on it and then opened with a bird coming out of it I felt like the guy was crazy and that trick was all luck.

After a few more tricks is was the grand finale, (but for some reason that last one must have been  new because it was kind of easy to see how to do it) it was still good. At the very end after some questions I gave the guy some honey from our school hives.

Art Day!

On the 8.6.21 which was last Tuesday. In the morning, at school, after the bell rang everybody got on the mat ready for school.

Once school began the two joint classrooms, Moana one and Moana two, split up.  The teacher that was in my class, was named Koka Katie and she had a super fun art project in store for us.

After we learned a little bit about the artist we were inspired by,  we started our drawing. The first thing you had to draw was the nose, then you would draw the eyes and some of the patterns in it. Once we finished drawing all of the designs we moved onto the mouth. To draw the mouth you need to draw a short line down from the nose and then draw a frowny face, next you draw a line across the frowny face, finally you draw a smiley face that ends connected to the frowny face.

Once I finished drawing the neck, shoulders, and face, and once I had finally finished drawing all the designs on them, I was ready to color.

After I had been coloring for about one hour it was time to go to morning tea. Morning tea is about thirty five minutes long and after that I had code cracking. Once code cracking was over I had to talk to Koka Nolian about school.

As you can imagine by the time I got back I only had thirty minutes before lunch. For the rest of those thirty minutes I colored harder then I had colored yet that day.

After twenty five minutes went by it was time to pack up...

Get set go

feel
The water rushing past me. I am swimming as fast as I can. The water is just a perfect tempchar but that's not why I'm shivering. I'm shivering because I am so close to the finish line.
touch, I finished the two laps of freestyle in second place! Get set toot and where of, it's the semifinals of freestyle. I'm cutting into the smooth water As I send the water churning behind me. Touch I make it to the end of semi finals just in time. Splash! I made it to the finals, i'm splashing of my feet faster than ever then touch, I'm on my way back slicing through the water. SLAP I hit the wall out of breath. It turns out I came in third.

I swim backstroke as fast as I can woosh slicing my hands and kicking hard is hard work. I touch The end of the pool and get out. I came third she said so I told Margo ( the office prison). To bad I didn't get into the fineles.

I dive in the pool my frog legs at the ready, I rise the sirfice of the water taking a breath of clean air. I point the tips of my tos bring it up to my butt then sveep it around then glide but in a faster way..I hit the wall with two hands slap. I hop out I came second. Hay where is the semifinals? I jump up onto the box then toot and I dive in. I'm Frog kicking, breath and gilding as much as I can. Then molty handley touch the wall and it's over. Koka Nolion gives ne a yellow stick that means I came second.

see

The clear water is all around me. The finish line just in front of me! I'm swimming as fast as I can. Splash! I hit the wall at full speed. I come second in the freestyle heats ( that means that I got into the semifinals for freestyle). Get set toot, I hit the water at what feels like 100 miles and hour. The water all around me. I rush to the top of the water to start swimming. Taking a breath every three strokes. The wall of the first lap is just in front of me. Tumbelturn touch I'm off on the second lap of the semifinals. The walls are rising as I get closer and closer. But the closer I get the more out of breath I become. TASH I hit the wall all out of breath. But waiting for me is Koka Noleon who said that I came second in the semifinals. SPLASH I start swimming as fast as I could, the fastest I'd ever swam before. And before I new it I was at the other end of the pool. I used The wall to my advantage and after I hit the wall I used it to posh of of. Ping I was of chugging down gallons of water, but it was worth it. I came third in the finals for year 4 boys.

For some reason I'm looking at the ceiling, oh that's right I am doing backstroke. Windmalhands I say to myself as I turbo through the water. Go kamukaniaash every one is yelling, well that is what it sounds like. kick kick I kick through the water as fast as I can but I slow down at the flags. Touch! I came in third ( too bad I didn't make it to semifinals).

Around up down frog kick goes my body as I quickly glide through the water for the breaststroke heats. As I glide through the water I pass people. I came second place which meant that I got into the semifinals. Toot I dive in and start swimming two hand tap I got to the end in second. But wait did you say that That was the finals ok.

That was the end of swimming sports

L3 math strand

On the 1.5.21, after brain break, me and my strand group sat down on the mat, ready for our lesson to begin. After we had been waiting for our teacher, Koka Jo, for about one minute we were ready for our lesson to begin.

At the start of the lesson Koka Jo ran us through what we had to do. One group of us would discover the average weight of an orange, another would count the seeds in the orange, and my group would count the measurement of the juice of the orange.

After, she told us what each of the groups had to do. As I said before, the first group had to find out what the average weight of an orange was. Since no one knew how to get to an average, Koka Jo decided to show us. Once she finished showing us how to get the average, Koka Jo told the rest of us what we had to do.

After all that was finished, me and my group started measuring orange juice. When we finally got all the juice out of the orange we started measuring it. It turned out that even big oranges only have a little bit of juice.

Adding Decimals-Math

0n the 26.5.21, my math group and I recorded ourselves doing math. The math we did was adding 6 digit numbers. That means, it includes decimals. Did you know that adding decimal numbers is practically the same as adding normal numbers? If you did, please say that in a blog comment.

Below is a video showing my work. I hope you enjoy.

I hope this video helped teach you how to add decimal numbers.

The day we recapped adding decimals!

This week on Monday I had a math workshop, there we practiced adding decimal numbers and whole numbers.

This is my example of what we did.

So as you can probably see adding with decimals is barely different from adding with normal numbers.   Can you add decimal numbers together?

Getting Cybersmart

At school on tuesday we did some stuff to make us more cybersmart. What we did is we went on a game called Interland. Every one was teamed up with there blogging buddies, My ones name was Cash. On interland there are about fore worlds and each of them have a different game on them. But the one difference to a normal game and this game was that in this game they also teach you how to become cybersmart.

After about ten to twenty minutes me and Cash were ready to do the second part of the plan. The second part was that we had to do a flipgrid on what we had learnt while playing interland. But at the exact moment me and Cash were about to start filming Cash had to go to the dentist!!!

I decided that I could wait 10 minutes for cash to get back. But then 15 minutes later I was still waiting. After another five minutes I decided just to do a flipgrid by my self because if I didn't our work wouldn't get done so that's what I did.

So that concludes my blog about getting cybersmart, but remember, if you want to get ciber smart go on Interland.

Week 10

Last week was week ten. On the first day of the week it was Easter and on the second it was a teacher only day so in the end we only had three days of school that week. dearing thoughes last three days of the week I went from task to task doing as much work as I could. Even though the days were jam packed with tasks and activities they still went fast.

On friday the teachers decided to let carry on with the contribution art we had started two weeks before. Once me and my buddy finished our plan we moved onto our panting. At the beginning it was hard to pant perfectly but avenchily I realised you could just go over in different layer of pant if you did bad.

Avenchily it was the end of the day and we decided it was time to start to pack up. When we were finished packing up we said our prayer for the end of the day and went home.

Two days latter after lunch we got out the paint...

Purakau day

It was five minutes after the bell rang when Koka Rozie said to go into our class, which happened to be moana two. Once we got there Koka Rozie told us all to get into a circle so we could make a list of advantages of growing your own food. The first few things that got on the list were obviously things like low expense and you feel proud when they are finished growing, but once all those were gone we had to start thinking and towards the end, we got good ones like no packaging and better for health.

After we had finished making the list we moved into action. What we were going to do was we were going to clean out all the class gardens so we could harvest all the plants and make a plan for them. But first we went to the enviro shed to get rakes, shovels and gardening supplies.

After we had finally gotten all the supplies we moved onto the gardening. It was hard work but finally by brain break I think we had made progress.

Now that it was past brain break a person named Kauri was going to come in to talk to us. At first she talked to us about boats and teamwork and stuff but finally we moved onto some fun. What we did was she gave out some kind of map which we had to find a whole bunch of things on it, but before I knew it, it was morning tea.                                                                                                                                                            Once morning tea was over we continued to do gardening and same with after lunch and once the bell rung at the end of the day we could feel like we had accomplished something because a woce gint garden was empty.

Cooks cove walk

Bang! That was the sound of me and all the other people in the car opening the door. After a forty five minute drive we had finally arrived at Cooks Cove. After I gotten out of the car, my driver, which happened to be my mum, asked me to put on sunscreen. After I had finished putting on my sunscreen me and all my fellow students got called in front of our teachers were we would be organized into groups

Once we were organised into lines we started heading up the mountain but after less then two minutes of trudging, we had to stop because other people were coming down from the walk. We continued heading up the mountain, then Louie asked me if he could go in front but I said no.  Eventually, after a little more truging, we got to the Beacon of light; a cool statue. Then once the five minute break was over we carried on going up a pasture, that happened to be full of bristles and hollow trees. That was also when I let Louie in front of me!!! Finally after what must of been an hour, we made it to the look out where, as I remember, we had a two minute break and a picture then we carried on walking. By then our group's little rotation was in full swing. The rotation worked that every ten minutes or on the next stop, we had the next person in the group  go to the front to lead. After we left the look out we had to walk down what felt like one thousand stairs. Then, all of sudden  we all  a bird;  in fact it was a native owl, what I wanted to see was it turning it's head in a circle and guess what? I saw it! After that the walk was pretty dull, well, except for when we went to the hole in the wall. After that we headed back to the car ready to go back to school. Wouldn't you know it,  when we finally got to the car our fuel tank was sitting on empty!!

Back to School: Maungaroa

Stomp, stomp, stomp.  That's the noise of Moana and Nui syndicates walking up to the base Maungaroa. As we reach the bottom of the mountain we all stop to get reorganized into lines. Then about five minutes later the two syndicates which included me and my buddy, Tallulah, started climbing up Maungaroa.

As we headed up the steep and rocky incline I hear panting all around me, then I looked up and saw we weren't even close to the paddock that would lead to the main walk. At that moment I realized It is alot harder to walk in a group then it is on your own.

While we trudged up the hill's road the pasture came closer and closer. Soon we were there and I realized that we couldn't of taken any longer than Two minutes for us to get there. Now that we were in the paddock we began to start climbing again, the problem was we had started at the bottom of the year six line and my buddy was a little more slow of a walker then I would of liked. So we slowly fell behind two I think the year fore and five line. Well as I was explaining that we had passed not only a house but also a slaughtered cow. Next we passed an electric fence that many people touched.

Finally we were back in the year six line we were nearly at the cell phone tower but when we got there we kept walking and about 30 seconds later we passed a spring that had lots of green stuff growing on it. After that we passed another electric fence that seemed to be on because of the look on the peoples faces that touched it. Since we had passed the cell phone tower I had just assumed that we were going to head for the lighthouse but after we passed the turn off for it I realised that was not the case. Avanchy we reached we reached a little cliff, that couldn't do more than sprain a ankle. From that location we got told some interesting stories.

After we had morning tea we started heading back before we passed the spring we turned up and started going up the path to the lighthouse. Once we got there we drank some water and took a photo. I am going to put the photos below.

On the way back down the mountain Koka Leah got separated from the rest of the group and so did a small part of MLH, Moana Learning Hub.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Once we got to the bottom of Maungaroa we got reorganized into our lines and we headed back to school.
