The Fibonacci Sequence

The fibonacci sequence is not only in architecture it is also in mother nacher. Mother nacher seems to like the fibonacci sequence because if you start looking it will be in more things then you realise.

Let me start with the basics. The fibonacci sequence use numbers. It gos like this. You have two one by one squares right. then you have one two by two square then one three by three square then won five by five square. To get throws you add two numbers together let's use three and five. Three plus five equals eight right. Now we have so now that we have an eight we will plus the bigger number in the three plus five and plus it to the eight. Now that we have thirteen we will use the bigger number in the five plus eight and plus it against thirteen. Then you will keep doing that using the same pattern.                                                            Now if you put thoughts numbers together wright ad make them squared you will get a spiral.

You can also the fibonacci sequence in architecture. There are many different kinds of spirals so things that might not look like spirals are. That makes it easy to make without even knowing it. Do you have a spiral staircase in your house, well that is a spiral that makes it the fibonacci sequence.

Now as I said at the beginning mother nacher loves the fibonacci sequence so it is so comin almost everywhere. it is in seed pods and in butterfly chrysalis. It is in pine cones and it is even in storms and in tornadoes and cyclones.

Kapa Haka Festival

Yesterday my school, Wainui Beach school, performed at the Kapa Haka festival. It was a festival that happens only once year. It was exciting to get on stage but what I wanted most was to just get Kapa Haka out of the way.

We were waiting outside just off the stage while the announcer introduced us to the crowd. There was a big long clap and we started to walk onto the stage nervously. Now that we were on stage we waited for the Kia to do her command. We had two Kia, one was a boy named Bay and the other was a girl named Matiria. Once the clapping stopped Matiria gave her command and we all walked in close in the middle of the stage. Then Matiria sang the first word to the song and we were of joining in on the next word.

After we finished the first song, Matiria did the separate command and we departed back into our usual lines. We started singing Utina and did our Haka transition. Then we did our Haka, the male Kia named Bay led it. After our speedy Haka we sang the poi song. We sang it again but this time we moved to the back where we were originally. Then we sang it one more time with the girls just doing the poi and with the boys just singing. Then we sang Wainui A and we all walked off stage.

Chess Tournament

This week on wednesday I went to a  chess tournament at Centrul school. At to touriniment I won three games and lost three games.

After I stepped out of the car all the people in the Centrul chess club came to meet us. Once they showed us into the hall where the tournament was being held we divided our self into our row teems. Our two teams were then given name tags and and were told how the tournament worked. Finally the first game started. We played with a clock. The clock was there because It meant that the game could go no longer then ten minutes.

After I won, a very exciting, first game of chess we had a five minute break. Deering the five minute break we were allowed to eat go tolet and more.  After I won my next game we had a neuter brack of five minutes.  Sadly on the next one I lost, Then the next and the next. Finally we were on the last game of the day and I was very determined to win it. Our game was eventful. The person I was going against only had pans left and she kept hiding behind then. finally I just killed the pawns and won the game.

In the end my team lost by one game but the other team our other wainui team lost by like five games.

it was a fun game. We also got ice cream that was really good.

T4 W4 Speeches

This week on Monday we had speech finiles and that is what my blog post is about. Speech finals took up the entire middle block of learning time so it was kind of boring.

On Monday this week we had speech finiles. The problem with that was that we do speech finiles it the hall but my class moved into the hall while our class is renovating. (It still is). The problem with that is that now everyone in the syndicate that I'm in had to squeeze into the small space that was left over.

Finally speech finiles started. The order that the speeches went in, went from year four's to year six. Sadly I didn't do well enough in speeches to make it into the speech finiles so it was very boring.

On Wednesday week two term 4

On Wednesday I came to school but I came with my mum to show her around our hall classroom. I also showed her some 3D hand art that we had been doing.

Once the bell rung every year five in MLH ( my class( moana learning hub) went to mark there name in on etap but it wasn't working so our teacher, Matua Beau, said that we all had to go on the cortes for Kapa Huka so when we got there he did the role there.                                                                                              After Kapa Haka we all went back into our class. once we got there we all sat down on the mat. then Matua Beau said that there was this online quiz we had to do but our chromebooks didn't allow us to us it so instead we just carried on with our priorities.

After morning tea all the year fives and a couple year fores met on the corts with some teachers for athletics practice. The year five boys which was me and the other year five boys started at long jump. Long jump is really fun but when we moved to high jump I wasn't sad because high jump is fun too.

After High jump it was lunch. Lunch was wasn't the funnest. I built a hut but little kid tries to take it over so I destroyed it but luckily the bull rung. And nothing else worth mensching happened after.

Athletics training on Tuesday term 1

After lunch on tuesday it was time for athletics. Everyone was told to meat on the corts but when I got there there was only Abhay and Anroux but we all happily played Old Man Dies.

We were walking to the high jump because that was our first rotation. We went through all the things we had to do to be successful and then we choose sides to run up to the mat with the bar on it. Before long it was my turn. I had to run up and jump over the bar. I started running then hesitated, then I started running again. Sadly I didn't make it over the bar but I did land on the mat.
Next I went to the other side and waited in line. After a while it was my turn to run so I did but ages before they had raised the bar and it was still raised so instead of going over the bar I landed on it. Matua Beau said I did a good job. He said that I had the angel and the speed but I didn't have the nerve.
I kept doing high jump but I was always one step behind the bar.

Finally we moved onto ball through. In my group we had Osker, me and one other person. We were told that we had to through the ball when she said go the first time and we collect the ball when she said go the second time.
I wasn't very good at ball through but at one point one of the balls heart Oaker so someone got him a ice pack.

Farm activideys

One farm activities I did was a animal massager. The messenger scanned the animal then identified the animel and then all the massaging tools would move into place according to the animals tipe.                                                                                                                                             It also had milking parts so that when cows goats of even sheep went in the machine would also collect the milk, two last thing it could do was collect eggs and most of all if it scanned a human a char would pop up from the conveyor belt and then take you for a massage

This week

This week was a very confusing week so this blog might be a very confusing blog.

The First day was monday and we moved into the hall but it would be a boring paragraph so I'm not going to wright it.

I stepped of the bus. We were at Petite station at last. After a long-ish- bus ride we were here. The last time I was here was three years ago. After Everyone in the moana syndicate had hoped off the bus's we all lined up in class lines. While waiting in our lines everyone was talking.( I was talking to my mum). After awhile the teachers must of come to a design because we all split up into groups. All of Moana learning hub went and put their bags into the shearing barn. Then MLH split in half. After my group (, Room 2) met up we all went to the buching place where a bucher was prepared to show us some of his butchering skills. Once we were done at the bucher we went to the milking station where another farmer milked the cow and gave us some whipped cream. We went to many more activities but those are the only two I'm going name.

The Next day was Wednesday. In the morning our teachers told us that our movie day was going to be in our class. When they told us this it was very exciting but it didn't compared to the sound of cheering when our teacher said the movie was the sleepover.                                                                                                  After brain brake everyone started coming into the hall. Then the people with popcorn came. When they put down popcorn the teaches started calling out classes. Finally the movie started. It was very funny. We took a brake for morning tea and then after we started up the movie again.

That is the to best days of Week 9 Term 3.

ice cream sundae

We walked into the staff room and took a seat. Matua Beau got out the marshmallows, the chocolate saws and the sprinkles. The Ice Cream was already on the table.

Once Matua Beau took a seat he told everybody to give the person next to them there ice cream sundae recipe. The first person started reading out the instructions. Sadly for that person they didn't put a spoon on their instructions.

After a lot of waiting my swaper buddy read out my resipy. But instead of giving it to me he kept it. Sadly for me he didn't put a spoon on his resipy so I had to eat with my hands but I was still lucky to get an ice cream sundae.

quickwright

This week my quickwrite was about litter. We had four questions and every question we had to wright a paragraph on our opinion on the topic. We also got info from a youtube clip. The four questions this week were, Why is littering so bad, who do you think is responsible for picking up litter and why, Where would you like to organise a litter pick up in your local area, and why and last of all, how could people be encouraged to litter less in your local area?

The first thing I did in my quickwrite was my branestawm. I got the info for the branestawm from the youtube clip.

After I finished my branestawm I moved onto the writing part. In this part of the quickwrite I use the information from the branestawm to write answers to the questions. I listed before, in the introduction.

After I finished that I edited my quickwrite and then I finished it.

Monday of week five

Week five started with like it always does. It started with our MLH hui. In the hui we went through all the priorities for this week including our branestawm.

After we did our hui we went in more different directions. I did my Math Whizz. During my Math Whizz sections I am getting faster and faster with my math but I am also getting better at my motiplicashens.

Once I finished Math Whizz I moved onto steps. In steps I am getting better at spelling words. Some ways I do this learning are,  in games, in word searches, in limited time and mostly just normily.

The last thing I did before LTP was my quickwrite. This weeks quickwrite was about mobile phones. After I had finished my branestawm I went onto my writing part.  After I did a lot of writing I finally only had one more paragraph of writing to go but I ran out of time before I finished it.

That is my monday of week 5.

Quickwrite

This week's quick write topic was the word " successful".

I started with my brainstorm. I watched the video and then I wrote down the key words. I kept going  back to the video while I wrote my brainstorm to make sure I didn't forget anything.

Finally I started my writing part. The first thing I had to do was write down the question. Then I went back to the brainstorm to get more information. After I did that, I wrote the info down and then I went back to the brainstorm. I kept doing that for the rest of the quickwrite.

Last I did puncshuwashen and recrafting. I started with getting the answer to one key word. Then I looked all over my writing for the word and I ended up with lots having lots of the wrong word. Then I did it again and again until almost all my words were correct. Then I went to see Fly.

Quickwrights

This weeks blog is going to be about my quickwright. This week's topic for our quickwrights was household chores. The three questions were, should kids do household chores, the second was what household chores would you enjoy doing, the third was what household chores would you hate doing and the last one would you rather do household chores or do homework?

Using the info from from a video I watched I was able to make a brainstorm for the video. I put down all the info I could salvage from video and and that made the barnstorm grow. After I completed the branestawm I moved onto my quickwrite part but I kept going back to the branestawm part.

Next I moved onto the quickwright part. I used the the branestawms info to make my quick write better. Even though I was no the mane wighting part I kept going back to the branestawm and kept changing my sentsis and rereading my work every time making it better then before.

The last thing I did was a punctuation check. I reread all of my work (some for second or third time) fixed up all the wrong words. Finally I was done with my quickwrite.

Week 2

The first thing I did this week was my ninja maths. It took ages to get to the correct page in my math book but when I did I wrote down all my math questions down and with a line to separate the first, the second section and the third section. Then I did all the answers I answered the ones I thought were correct and the ones I didn't know I would highlight. I didn't highlight anything in the first section but in the second section I got some and in third section I nearly got all highlighted.

This was woodwork. The first word work was the word "educate". The first thing I did with the word was wright the word twice. Then there was the word educates and then I have to wright the S next to a educate word that is already printed there. Then I do it again but this time I do it with ING at the end and so on. After I finished the first sheet I moved onto the second sheet. That sheet was about the word "clean" and I did the same first thing which is writing the word with editions on the letters.

The next thing I did was my quick right which was about a healthy lifestyle . The quick right had two parts. The first part was brainstorm and the second part was the the question answering part. I started with the brainstorm, I watched the video and as I wrote down information and every once and a while I  stopped the video. Next I moved onto the answering question part, using the Info from the brainstorm  I answered all the questions.

Winter Brake

During the brake my family went to Rotiwe which is close to Rotorua. Every day we went to Rotorua to go logging mounting and more. I am going to talk to you about to things I did there.

One of the first things we did in Rotorua was go to Motion Entertainment which is pretty much like an arcade, a Laser tag course, a mini golf course, a trampoline park and a bowling alley. The problem was that at Motion Entertainment you didn't have to pay to enter but you did have to pay to do everything in it. Even though it was frustrating that you had to pay for everything I couldn't avoid the temptation to do laser tag. The one problem with laser tag is that there was no cover and there were so many people that the moment after you were able to tag people again you got shot so you were never in.

The last thing we did in Rotorua was going down the luge. At first I didn't want to go down the luge because it just sounded boring but after one run down the luge I really wanted to go down again. Before we went down the luge we had to wait in a line to by our gondola tickets and our luge tickets. The first people in line get to go first and then when then when they come back up they get to go in a short line. There were three different luge tracks but one of them was closed (the edvanced) and apparently that one has been closed for a very long time. Every time I went down the luge I went down the intermediate path. The last time I did it I wanted to go down the scenic (beginner) but noone wanted to go down with me so I went down the intermediate.

Matariki Puzzle

The teacher handed me a piece of paper and I went to my favorite desk. Then I went around the classroom looking for the sheets of paper. The first sheet of paper was confusing but I finally figured it out. I answered the questions on the peace of paper like right a wish here and braw a kite here but slowly I got onto the hard questions like sentences with blankspaces in them but once I realized that the cards had the same sentences but with the correct answers it was very simple.

Next I moved onto the coloring stage. I colored in all the trees people goods and everything else. It was harder than it sounds. I had to choose new colors every picher and then I would change back to them witch made it take for ever.

After that I moved onto cutting out and pasting the puzzle pieces that I had been righting on. I started cutting out with big scissors but after three puzzle pieces I got small scissors and it started going much faster. The problem was that the scissors were all blunt so I had to get a new pair half way through.

Once I got my green background paper I moved onto seeing were all the puzzle pieces went and it took a little rearranging and annoyance at myself but finally I got all the puzzle pieces glued on the green paper in the right order.

Finally I asked Tilly what to do and she said to put a border around my puzzle and to right my name, but after I did that Korka Terry told me to make my border more quality and to mack the the background have patterns. So after I did that I had finished my Matithike activity.

Quick rights

This week we have had really fun quick rights, like for example we have written letters for our holidays to be early, we have written for how our new teacher should be like, we have written a menu of our favorite foods and our least favorite foods. I'm going to tell you all about it.

I started with writing my letter to the Board of Trustees. First I went and looked at the demonstration and used that info to make my letters address date and so on. It took time lots of crossing out and mostly baring the knowledge that that was only my draft. I finally finished my draft by Fly saying it was done.

Next I moved onto my menu of the foods that I liked. I finally decided that the name of the restaurant should be the Argarena because it was for kids and there was a arg in it. Then I thought up a whole lot of things that I liked and made them sound so yummy and mouth watering that even if you didn't like them you would by them. Once I finished the main course I moved onto the drinks, then the appetizers and then the deserts.

After I finished my menu of foods I liked I moved onto the draft of what my classes new teacher should be like. I started with thinking up what good qualities for a teacher and then I rote them down in the proper order. When I got to the end of the letter I tried to right a signicher but it didn't work.

Once I finished that letter draft I moved onto the menu to the foods I didn't like. I started with the main course, but this time instead of putting in yummy descriptions I put in yucky ones. Next I moved onto drinks but instead of good lemonade I put in sawer and no good lemonade but the main attraction was the no good rotten deserts.

After that was done I went onto the good copy of my letter. It was nerve racking and my hand shook but overall I had done well. So I moved  onto my second letter. It was just as nerve racking as the first letter and in that letter I messed up but in the end it turned out fine, and that is all the quickrights we did this week.

Bubble day

The Wednesday before we had started on our bubbles by searching up the best and biggest bubble
recipes and how to make them so the next wednesday we would have the biggest bubbles.

On wednesday the  17 of June we all got into our buzz groups, mine was with Alice, Krishna, jackson,
cory and Klara (but she wasn’t here), Then we listened to a long talk about the slides order. Finally we
all sat down at a table and made our slides. Next we made our bubbles, we had to modify the recipe
because we didn’t have any corn syrup but we made our own. Also we added some kind of other syrup
to thicken it. Once we put in the soap we went to mack the bubble wands. Some were already done so I
decided to mack the big bubble wand. Koka jo told us to get some big sticks so once we got the sticks we
asked someone to give us some string then I made the big bubble wand.

After morning tea we went out to blow our bubbles. Alice went first with the big bubbles wand but she
didn't have any. I went second and after a lot of tries I made a big bubble. My group kept making bubbles
but Reef and cory kept popping them but when we popped them back they got mad at us. When I had popped lots of other
peoples bubbles I went over to the mane bubble place and watched and popped other peoples bubbles.
Towards the end of the middle block I got a bubble on my hand but it didn’t pop until someone hit it but I
realized that if I so soaked my hand in bubble mix and blew a bubble onto it it would stick and not pop.

After lunch we finished our slides and had a big clean up and that is all.

pohiti

The pohiti started with koka jo saying a greeting call then koka Terry responded and all the new children came in. We started with singing a song, Wainui and while we were singing the new children and their parents sat on the benches that were on the stage. Then koka Nolian gave a speech and told our newcomers and then all the teachers told them there names. Finally we sang our school song. Once we had finished our school song for the second time over we sang a song that I don’t like very much as we left the hall and that was the end of our pohiti.

 (Yes it was very short)

Just dance

The music started to play. Everyone was doing great actions, and they laughed as everyone ran in a circle. The ghostbusters just dance had everyone having a blast. Then the best part started, The ghost started taking over the minds of the ghostbusters then let them go. It was great.

Once they moved onto the second song which was a new solo song (which was boring) but was actually really fun. Then we went back to class looking forward to the next day.

The next day, after morning tea we were back in the hall to do a really fun song which we were really good at, because it was the first song we did, but we were olways looking forward to ghostbusters. We waited and waited but instead of ghostbusters we got a new fun song which is YMCA and we all liked.

Something I think we have all reliced is that we have begun to trust each other more and communicate with each other more.

Coming back to school

Coming back to school

Coming back to school was harder than it sounds, for example during lock down we had all the time in the world to get our stuff done. When we came back to school we still had time to do whatever we had to do but it was still hard. We were used to sleeping in and it doesn’t help having to get up at 7:00 am to get to school at 8:00 am.

What did help is that the teachers made the priorities similar to the ones that we did during learning from
home so that made it much less hard. Something else that made getting back to school easier is that
we used our learning from home websites so we were familiar with the links.

Getting back to school was really hard and it took a lot of adapting, to be honest I'm still adapting but
it was made easier than it could have been. Though one thing was really hard, the fact that  one day we
were sleeping in and the next day where up at 7:00 that makes it really hard get back to school.

Wainui Beach School Tryathlon

This Monday we had a tryathlon and I was in it so let me tell you about it. I pulled out my swimming bag my computer bag and my school bag. On the way out the door the cars sliding door hit me in the head. I just knew it would be a bad day. When I got to school I Put my computer bag in the box and went out to play. Before the second bell rung I was told that two somebody's needed to get a ride. I said I would tell my mum so koka Terri told me that I could call my mum. When mum picked up the phone I told her that two somebody's needed to have a drive. She said that it would be squishy but it would work. When the second bell ring I thought mum would be their but unsprisingly she wasn't. Then I remembered that she said that she would pick me up at 3:15. It was actually lucky I stayed because if I hadn't I wouldn't have gotten a tag that said 5 I R. When mum picked us up we figured that one somebody had already gone. When we got to the tryathlon after I finished weeling my bike to the bike station and after I put my swimming bag in the swimming station I got changed into my speedo togs.

The year fours went first. They ran really fast biked really fast but didn't quite swim very fast. Next it was the year fives turn. We all lined up on the starting line. When we went I didn't think people would go so fast so I tried to catch up. Even though I used all my energy in the run I had still saved a little energy for the bike. The only problem was that I fell behind on the bike because I had a problem getting on the bike. Throughout the hole bike I tried to catch up but I never did. When we got to the swim I was so exhausted that I could barely do my best strokes let alone faster ones. I did all kinds of strokes but all of them made me more tired. The worst thing wasn't that though the worst thing was that every time I tried to pass somebody I could never get around. When I finally got out of the pool I used the last of my strength to cross the finish line.

After the tryathlon we decided to go back to school not home. But first mum incisted that we ask the someones mum if the someone need a lift home. When she said no I asked mum if we could go home but this time school said I needed to sing out so after I told Koka Rosy that we were going we went back to school to finish the day.

Nachos Lunch

I watch the line grow and grow for the nachos . Lucky me I think I don't need to wait for my nachos because I don't have any. But it backfired once people got there nachos I wished I had gotten them to. So as I ate my lunch they ate their delicious nachos. Well I wasn't to sad because I had a good lunch that day but you get the jist. Well back to the story. As I ate my lunch I overheard Ivy say ow I sat in a nachos mix in my white shorts. Some people thot it was funny but I didn't think so. After lunch I once again I herd Ivy telling Koka Tarri That she spilt the nachos on her white shorts but like the other kids she said what do you want me to do about it which is why I know that she didn't really care.

Any ways I think lots of people loved if not liked nacho day

First week back

First week back at school was a busy one. After the bell rang we started up for a game of people bingo to help us get us get to know the people around us. There were lots of questions on the sheet. It was sad about how many people had a filling in their teeth. We also got to learn a little about different animals by interacting and asking one another to see if their paper was related to our one.It also led to us meeting our buzz groups that we have done work with and will do lots of learning with.We have used our buzz groups to play the game tension.

We also started doing swimming and quick writes. This is how it works. So we go swimming and then we do the quick write .The first weeks quick writes were chocolate VS cheese (leave a comment below to tell us which is  better and why.) I personally think that chocolate is better than cheese because it can come melted half melted there are different types and brands of chocolate it can also come in all shapes and sizes.

By Thursday it was waitangi day, with a day off of school. We started our booklets about the treaty of Waitangi.
The last thing we did this week was Kawa of care so we could use our chromebooks safely.
